Lance, its not technically black fiber, but it may work...I found this source for fish paper. They sell it in various thicknesses (.010 being one). Fish Paper Vulcanized Fiber $35 for a sheet may be more than you want to spend, but a 2'x3' sheet will make a lot of purfling lines. |

Does anyone have it pre-cut in strips like StewMac? I see where most have sheets and precision cutting this thin stuff is pretty tough. Mike |

Mike, I think both Bob and I, at least, have purfling lines pre-cut into thin strips. But I do also carry double length binding height purfs to place on the side of the binding channel rather than cutting a seperate purf channel, if you get want I mean. But I do have white, black, b/w/b, b/w/b/w, maple and pearwood in small purf size pieces, like .020 to .030 x .060 x 34.5 inches Hope that helps! Shane |

Gurian has almost anything you can think of in the purfling/binding arena. He has a $200 minimum, but if you want to build up a "stock" design for your main (spec)instruments, then buy individual "stock" for the "custom" builds, the minimum gets met pretty quickly. Check out the web site at: http://www.gurianinstruments.com/index.php |
